Hi there again pingskills,

I just though of ANOTHER question i would like to know the answer :) I am getting a new bat in a few days with Tenergy 05 2.1 on forehand and mark V max on backhand on a butterfly primorac OFF- blade. Mark V has more control, so what is your opnion in using it to return all short serves on both wings by twiddling. I'll keep the tenergy on my forehand for long serves but when there is a short service to my forehand wing i could change to Mark V to make returning a little easier.

Thanks in advance

Wow i've asked a lot of questions lately! :)

Hi Tevia,

Since you are a Premium member we give your questions priority.

I think it would be best to keep the same rubber on the forehand and not twiddle.  It is probably better to focus on improving your control on your return of the short serve.  It will be difficult to twiddle in time to return short serves with the Mark V on both sides.

Remember it is better to focus on personal improvement than your equipment.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.

Twiddling has its downside (makes the game more complicated for you) so in order to make it worthwhile I think you need to have two rubbers that are RADICALLY different in playing characteristic.  I wouldn't bother twiddling between a slower inverted and a faster inverted.  It can be very effective, however, if you use pimples on one side and inverted on another.
