Unglued rubber

Equipment

I wanted an upgrade for my bat, since I have learnt the fundamental strokes, so I bought Yasaka Mark V to replace my tensor rubber. I removed it gingerly as you demonstrated on your video. Halfway through removing the rubber, I remembered I did not have glue with me cry. So I removed it entirely, and placed it on again. I needed to kinda stretch the rubber. To my surprise, it didn't come off! Probably due to the glue. Is it alright for me to play with a bat like that?

Hi Romeo,

You will probably find that it will come off pretty easily once you start playing with it.  It is better to find some glue and glue it back properly.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

I see. But what will I do if the back of the rubber has damaged sponge? I heard that re-gluing damaged sponge will cause it to be uneven.

It depends how damaged it is.  If it has tears in it or pieces out of the sponge then you are better to get a new rubber.

If that's the case, then I'm in luck smile. Thanks!
