Where to move after hitting the ball

Hello. Recently I've started to play with some better players rather than just my mates at college, and I'm having problems with my position after hitting the ball.

Firstly I'm a beginner and my strokes are limited: I only know counter-hit, push, block, and thats about it.  I've been having problems where I'm not in position to hit the ball, when the ball is at/near my crossover point. And tips on where I should move after hitting the ball?
Thanks.

P.S I use shake-hand grip

Hi Johnny,

It is important to think about being in a good basic stance to start with.  Then after each shot follow the flight of the ball and move accordingly.

Take a look at the lessons on the Basic Stance and Footwork Basics.  These will help you.
