Training
Hi Alois and Jeff,
What kind of warming up should I do before practicing on the table. I usually warm up with stretching my arms and legs, then I warm up with forehand and backhand counter hit. What do you recommend for warming up(s)?
Thanks a lot!
Regards, Archel
Hi Archel,
The current thinking is that you should do moving warm ups rather than static stretches. So some running around first followed by some moving of the arms and legs will be best.
Then you can spend time on the table warming up your forehand and backhand.
We have a lot of information on this area in our Training Secrets lessons including a comprehensive guide to warm ups.
By throwing in some unexpected long returns you will keep your opponent off balance and this will make each short push you do so much more effective. That's why it's important to be able to return long. You've got 2 options. You can flick the ball or push it long and fast. This week our focus is on these types of returns.
