As regards short backspin balls coming to me (from a serve or a push) is there such a thing as an unflickable ball?

Hi Roger,

At the top level it doesn't seem like there is a ball that can't be flicked. ย Perhaps the heavy low backspin ball makes it more difficult to flick effectively enough at times but as far as making a flick, I think it can be done off any ball.

The next key thing then is to have variation to start to get some errors.

To be honest...long balls can't be flicked because you are too far,or am I mistaken? :D
