Strokes
Hi Jeff,
Is the chop used for topspin or smash or for anything?
Hi Rahul,
The chop is a stroke that produces backspin. It is a defensive shot that is usually played against your opponents topspin attack.
The push is a similar stroke but the push is played when you opponent also plays a backspin stroke.
The banana flick has become one of the most important returns in table tennis. It allows you to attack almost any short ball and places your opponent under immediate pressure. Still it is a difficult stroke that takes a lot of practice to master.
