What to do after a short return

I'm really confused when I do a short return.  I don't know what to do for my next shot.  When I return a short heavy backspin, if he push me long I do a topspin against backspin.  If the serve have topspin, I will do a forehand loop.  But sometimes it doesn't work.

Please Help!

Hi Tang,

If they put the ball back short move back in and play another short ball or the other options you have are to push the ball long or flick the ball.

If you are moving back in you need to get your right leg right under the table and close to the bounce of the ball.
