Equipment
At present I use a Pingskills Rook which I like and feel is suitable for my level of play. I play about 2 to 3 hours a week.
Does the rubber deteriorate with either age or prolonged use?
What signs of wear should I look for, apart from obvious accidental scuffs and marks?
How often do you change your bat?
John
Hi John,
The Rook should last around a year of your development. Check to see if the rubber is worn by rubbing your finger across the surface. If it is slippery then it is time to change the rubber and or whole bat.
It looks like you have had yours for nearly 2 years so it is probably time to change it.
Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
