Which backhand stroke to use

Strategy

I sort of have an understanding of when to use certain backhand strokes regarding spin and depth of the ball. Like to flick is for short balls and the backhand topspin is for longer balls and the block/counter hit is to use the opponents speed and spin. Could you give me a greater understanding of what situations to use these strokes?

Hi Mikey,

I think the other major factor is the amount of time you have.  The more time, the bigger your stroke can be.  Then you can also look at the length of the ball coming to you.

Also think about what is most effective against the opponent at the time.
