Here is my story- Just as a beginner i tried buying some costly bats and started trying some high speed rackets ex: tenergy 05 Timo Boll racket and Tenergy 80. Realized its too fast for me, so switched to Tibhar ELS , then moved to butterfly Sriver EL and also have Yasaka mark v. I felt both sriver El and Yasaka gives me good control, however with yasaka Mark V i am finding hard to lift back spin into topspin. I have an office tournament coming up and came to semi final, playing with a good player who pretty much lifts every serve and plays topspin well. I have one week left and i am thinking of going back to Tibhar ELS for practice, Please advise on some tips to control good bats and some serves i need to master for the game.
Hi Nagaraju,
Whichever bat you choose you now need to stay with it till after the tournament. I would almost put the others away and try to forget about them totally till after the tournament.
I would recommend staying with the Mark V and Sriver EL. Work with this till after the tournament and then you can move up in speed after that. If you are finding it difficult to lift with this rubber open the angle of your racket slightly. This will help to lift the ball.
With serves work on the main serves you are currently using. With one week to go it isn't the time to start learning new serves and trying to do more than you already can. Consolidate your current skills.
