Is it really possible to execute a zig zag serve?

Hi Aryaman,

No it isn’t.  The ball will spin one way or the other.  You may get the illusion that it is zig zagging because of the action of the server but in fact it moves one way.

I think there is a zig zack illusion ( from certain points it looks like zig zack) if you looking at some side/top spin seves. Because after first bounce the ball is slower and curving strongly, the second bounce kicks the ball off, so it's faster and looks like its a more straight line.

In this video at 0:40 Alois does the serve which is bit like a zig zag serve but unfortunately it is an illegal serve.
