Strokes
Hi Alios and jeff
I always struggle with how to hit a chest high ball on the backhand side in particular the starting position for the backhand. The ball is not high enough to smash on the backhand side but I want to make an aggressive shot, any thoughts. Thanks Aaron
Hi Aaron,
If you don't feel comfortable with the smash, go for a topspin. If it is bouncing higher, either wait till it comes down to a comfortable height or hit it earlier off the bounce.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.

You could also try moving around and playing a shot with your forehand if you have time.
