hi coach,

after attack the backspin ball using long pimples with my backhand counter hit ,my opponent return the ball with a block and then the ball becomes top spin to me.

can i use the backhand counter hit with long pimples to attack again?(i tried it but the ball always went into the net or fly far away from the table)

or is there any other suggestion for me to attack the ball with my backhand long pimples strokes?

thank you

Hi Francis,

You can use the counter hit again on the next stroke.  You need to adjust the angle of the racket depending on the amount of topspin that is on the ball.  The ball will tend to be a bit slower so you would have to open the angle of your racket slightly.

That stroke can be played but it is a matter of getting the angle just right which will take time to learn fully.

The easier shot would be to chop that next ball because of the topspin on the ball but it may not be as effective against some players.

Sidespin Forehand Topspin

Curve the ball past your opponent with the sidespin forehand topspin. The sidespin not only causes the ball to curve but also makes it very difficult to return.

Sir,

My opponent serves with  long , fast ,underspin to my backhand side.Should I use backhand loop of push?

It is preferable to use a loop if you can.  This will put you on the attack.  If you push it back, it will give your opponent an opportunity to attack.
