Ball close to body on serve

Hi,
I noticed on your pendulum serves that you hit the ball quite close to your body. Is this a personal thing or do you gain more control and spin by doing this?

Hi Bevan,
You do get more control closer to the body. I guess my serve is also from the old days when you could hide the contact and hitting it closer to your body helped you with this as well.
