Over the weekend I witnessed someone putting a couple of breaths on the rubber immediately before going into their service without first wiping it off, is this legal?

Hi T K,

The breath will usually evaporate by itself. Most players do wipe it off though to make sure there is no moisture on the bat.  It is more likely to effect the player using the bat rather than their opponent however.  They won't be bale to generate any spin if the bat is slightly damp.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
