Hello, I'm an amateur player who is starting to play in a club in my home city. Until now, footwork has never come to mind. But now that I'm getting more competitive, could you help me out on ways to train my footwork?

Hi Joe,

The main thing to train footwork initially is to do repetitive drills.  Take a look at the drills we show you in our Training Drills free download.  This will show you different patterns you can use to get your footwork practiced.

Building Block 2: Link Your Table Tennis Strokes with Better Footwork

The second building block of table tennis is linking your strokes with set patterns. This step focuses on transitioning smoothly between strokes, as playing from a single position is very different from reacting after a previous shot.
