Hi Coach. Some players are very good in footwork and some have their own footwork style.

My Footwork Style is quite different than the other players ive seen. The reason is i want to save energy for the important ball. i dont have to move all the time. I always stand where the ball comes thats why i don't move every time unlike any other players there always moving and can lose there energy quickly.

Thats why my playing style is a straight out blocker http://www.pingskills.com/table-tennis-forum/what-do-you-think-of-my-tactics/

so is my Footwork Style Ok?

Hi Reynel,

If I was coaching a player I would instruct them to use the correct footwork on every ball. Every ball in the rally is important and you should be in the best position possible each time. If your opponent is hitting the ball right back to you then you are already in position and that is great but as you play better players, you'll find they try to move you around and won't just play the ball straight back to you.

I'd recommend you take a look at our Footwork Basics video and try to implement those tips into your game.
