Hi, Pingskills

Here I am again trying to learn more about LP. I am getting into the training, it goes well, chopping with both rubbers is just fine. But, I tend to surprise my opponents during the game. You see, most of them is a little afraid to attack, so, instead, they push the boll trying to get me closer and to make a mistake. My questions about attacking the backspin and no spin boll were for that reason. Now I want to learn this:

How to perform this shot, how is it dofferent from hitting with inverted rubber, what are key points in hitting with LP? Thank you in advance

Hi Sasha,

We have a lesson on this in our Strokes & Techniques section.  Take a look at LP Attack Against Backspin.

You need to hit the ball flat because it is difficult to generate topspin on the ball with the long pimples.  So you need to wait till the ball is a bit higher.  It is also easier to hit it when there is backspin on the ball as this will convert to topspin when it comes off the long pimples.

Forehand Topspin Variations

A great weapon is being able to vary the amount of speed and spin on your forehand topspin stroke. By making your stroke more vertical and brushing the ball finely, you can generate more spin. For more speed you need to swing more horizontally.

I am not a premium member, so I can't see. Is it similar to backhand counter hit maybe?

It is a flat hit but best off a backspin ball.
