Hitting your finger

Strokes

Today when I attack the third ball my finger kept hitting it. I lost so many points, and deal with it anymore. I am a traditional pen holder and struggle to get the ball not to hit my finger. How do I stop finger from getting hit from the ball in rallies?

Hi Jason,

This is often to do with watching the ball more closely and tracking where it is.  Take a look also at your finger position and make sure that it isn't over too much of the bat rubber.

Then you can look at the stroke.  Perhaps you are coming at the ball a bit sideways which will mean that the fingers are in the way.  If this is the case, focus on hitting the ball more square on to the bat and really getting the bat behind the ball before contact.
