Hi Alois ,

I am 12 years old . I live in India and i am addicted to table tennis. My parents made my join the classes but i wasn't interested but after the first day i loved it.

I have learnt how to hit a smash or a power shot but not how to dodge one.  Can you please suggest a trick or a stroke?

Hi Aditya,

It is great that you are enjoying the game.

To return a fast smash you can use the Lob.  You will need to move back from the table to give yourself more time to see the ball.

Of course the best solution is to stop them from making the smash by keeping the ball low and to difficult positions for them.

🏓 Tip 1: Learn why playing more shots down the line helps your partner stay in position and how a well-timed cross-court attack can still surprise your opponents.
🏓 Tip 2: Discover the power of serving short and close to the centre line to reduce your opponents’ attacking options and give your team the advantage.

These small adjustments can make a big difference in your coordination, positioning, and success as a doubles pair.
