Dear coach

Can you teach me how to perform a top spin serve with the easiest grip I always find it difficult to perform a top spin serve. I also want to ask you coach that how to handle a Raquette coz I am going to take a 5 star Raquette. I have a 3 star Raquette whose rubber is actually tearing away and I don't want that to happen with my 5 star Raquette. So please help me solve out my problems. Hoping to get ur guidance soon and thank you in advance don't forget I am waiting for your answer

Regards,

Hi Shehriyar,

There are lots of types of topspin serves.  For a straight topspin serve you can brush straight over the top of the ball with a normal grip.  This is the most basic form.  The key for a topspin serve is to brush over the top or up the back of the ball to get the ball rotating forwards.

We have a lot of advice on serving and also topspin serves in our Serving Secrets lessons.

For your new racket, try to put some edge tape on the racket.  This will protect your edges a bit but it is difficult to stop damage totally.
