Good day coach...

I just want to ask you how to do the right timing for make a drive spin..

Heres the situation...

Every time i do a hard chop return or even a false return...he will not hesitate to do drive spin and the best thing is the ball is very fast it has a power on it with the amount of side spin...and its not a loop..

its a drive side top spin with a lot of power..and its very very fast.. and his style is very unique..every time the opponent do a false return or even a hard chop he will execute to aggressive drive spin..thats why he is the No. 1 Player in our state in the Philippines in Region 10.

I just want to know coach how to execute his style in spinning the ball.

I want to know the perfect timing..in fact i practice how to do his style..

Hi Reynel,

It is one of the most important strokes in the game.  This comes with good practice.  Make sure you are doing the stroke correctly first.  Take a look at our lesson on the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.  Practice it often and you will find you will start to be able to use it in a match situation.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.

This is a good example on how to execute the spin...but i know how to execute it..all i want to know is how to execute it with an amount of side spin and a lot of power its more like a one hit spin that the opponent couldnt return or even defend it.

And furthermore i want to know when is the perfect timing to attack

Hi Reynel,

To do the sidespin topspin take a look at Sidespin Forehand Topspin.  When you put sidespin you need to sacrifice some power because there isn't pure topspin on the ball it doesn't dip as quickly.  It is best to hit this ball a little later.  Take a look at the lesson first and then let me know if you have any questions about it.
