Dear Coach,
I am 13 years old and i have been playing table tennis for 1 month and have had 1 lesson.
I am going to the dutch open ( I dont know how its called in English)
And i have watched your videos on topspin but i dont know wether i have to turn the hip or not.
And do I have to move my arm across the body or upwards across the face
Thank you and goodbye
Jorrit
Hi Jorrit,
Good luck at the Dutch Open. What a thrill to be able to play an event like that.
As you progress you can use you hips more to generate more power. Your arm should swing up and forward and finish above your eyes. Try not to swing across your body. Watch some video of the best players and see how they do it.
Let us know how you do at the Dutch Open.
