Hi Alois and Jeff,

Last month I prepared for my national exam, so I couldn't practice table tennis. Now I've done the national exam and I want to restore my strokes and my services. I found that I couldn't do the pendulum serve again and my strokes were awful. How to restore them?

Thanks in advance
Regards, Archel

Hi Archel,

Just take it slowly.  Do some controlled hitting until you feel comfortable.  It won't take long till you are feeling back to normal again.  The most important thing is to not try too hard and not have large expectations to start with.  It will all come in time.

The Controller

Most drills involve one person performing the exercise and the other placing the ball as required by the exercise. We call this person placing the ball the controller. When you are acting as the controller it is a great opportunity to practice your blocking and concentration. As blocking is an important part of the game you should be 100% focused at this time. You also owe it to your training partner to be blocking effectively so they get the most from their exercise.
