Kitchen soap on my rubber

Hi, I just got new rubbers and they were pretty dusty so I cleaned them with water using kitchen soap. Now the rubbers are very sticky. Is it ok to use kitchen soap to clean them and the stickiness will just go away by time, or should I never use it again. If I shouldn't use kitchen soap is there a way to get rid of the stickiness. Thanks!

Hi Eris,

The best thing to use is just water on a map sponge.  You can use a very weak solution of soap if you want.  The stickiness is a good thing.  That is what you want in a rubber.  That enables you to grip the ball and generate spin when you are playing.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
