i dont understand how you loop up a very strong chop ball...,

from what i am getting is using your body and stength to pull it.

can i just throw my arm in a vertical fashion? 180degree?

Hi Sam,

The more backspin the more vertical your stroke can be.  However don't think about using strength.  Think about your arm flowing freely along the correct path from low to high with as little effort as possible.

The ball is extremely light so you don't need a lot of strength to lift the heavy backspin, just use the angle of your bat (open) and the trajectory of your stroke (vertically).  Take another look at the Lesson on Forehand Topspin Against Backspin.  I think this will also help you.
