Hi coach

I have played tennis for 5 years and still continue to play. i play table tennis recreationally and have found that i am an alright player and people have said that i play table tennis like regular tennis. Could any aspects from my tennis be used for table tennis or should i try to change the way i play.

Hi,

While Tennis and Table Tennis have much in common I think it is important to develop the Table Tennis strokes well to be able to progress further.

You will be able to change between Tennis and Table Tenis easily once you play both a bit.  The main diffreence is that the strokes of Table Tennis are a little more vertical to allow for the more topspin required to get the ball up and down quickly because the table is so short compared to a Tennis court.

Work on the strokes and still use your learned hitting and coordination from Tennis.
