Rules
hello Alois i wanted to ask some questions,
1. what if the ball does not touches the racket and touches the ground at the time of serving?
2. what if the ball does not touches the racket but we catch it in our hand ?
Hi Sonia,
As soon as you throw the ball up it is in play so it is your responsibility to hit it correctly on the table.
If you miss the ball or you catch it again it is your opponent's point.
In this video we go over the somewhat complicated rules of serving for doubles in table tennis. There are a couple of extra rules for doubles that you don't apply to singles. In doubles you always serve from the right hand box diagonally to your opponent's right hand box. Each player has 2 serves each. If you've just been receiving then it's your turn to serve next.
