what is the best thickness of the sponge for a pimple rubber? i am beginner defensive player who always chop the ball at my backhand, but the ball always drop or float high so i lose many points,, what can can be the problem?

Hi Ricardo,
It is probably a technique problem. You should probably start with a 1.5mm sponge under the rubber to give you a bit more control.
Work especially on your defensive stroke. It will improve with some practice.
The key is to countering a chop block is to ensure you wait for the ball as it comes through much slower compared to a normal block. You also need to lift the ball more than you would against a regular block.
