Hi Joe,

Against Long Pimples a simple way to play them is to alternate between push and topspin to the pimples.  When you push the ball to the pimples the return will usually come back with a little topspin.  This is a ball you can attack. If that ball is returned it will come back with backspin which you can push.  This is a simplistic way of playing the long pimples but a good way to get a rhythm and learn about them more.

When playing short pimples, the main thing to remember is that the ball will come back flatter.  If you attack to the pimples the ball will come back faster, lower and without much topspin.  You will need to be low and lift that next ball.  The thing that short pimples players don't like is having to lift a heavy backspin ball or blocking a heavy topspin.
