Hi coach.

My RPB top spin always has a spin towards the rigt side I cant make it go to the middle or to the left side I even cant take off the spin that makes it go to the right (I am a right handed player) I saw ur video for the penhold techniques but I couldn't figure out my mistake any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Michael,

this is a common problem.  The angle of the racket on contact is the most important thing here.  It is difficult to get the angle right with the penhold grip. You really need to adjust your fingers on your grip so that the bat is facing where you want the ball to go.  Turn your wrist back to get this right.  It is an awkward movement of the wrist.  Once you get this right though, you will be able to get the ball going straight.

Thanks coach for the fast reply, yes my bat angle was always helping the ball to get that nasty spin.Coach u mean to modify my finger position to help get my bat facing the ball?also Will Is my wrist being used with my forearm swing? also IS this finger modificatio when trying to hit the backhand only not with forehand, right?

Hi Michael,

This is just for the RPB not for the forehand.  You need to use your fingers to change the grip slightly each time.
