What's the diffrence between the match drill and the other?  And how to practice for my backhand stroke and footwork.  And coming to the match, how to build the confidence in the match?

Hi Amith,

A match drill is one that starts with a serve and tries to emulate a situation in a match.

A training drill is usually aimed at improving footwork.  It involves a set of strokes that are linked.  We can have 2, 3, 4 or more set strokes involved in a drill.

We have a free download of drills.  They are in the Free Downloads page.

You will find that if you practice a lot of match drills you will start to get used to different situations that you will face in a match.  This will develop your confidence.

#42 - Study Your Opponent

This is the second training plan focusing on match strategy. Last week we looked at your strengths and building a game around that. This week you should examine one of your competitors and pick out their weaknesses. Then you can design some training drills to expose those weaknesses. By doing this you'll be able to exploit them in a match situation and win points more easily.
