Hi Hari,

This is a little difficult to follow.

If you follow the simple steps that we have in our lessons on the start and finish positions you won't go too far wrong.

It is easy to over complicate the game.  We really encourage players to keep things as simple as they possibly can to get the best results.

Take a note of these simple steps in our lessons on the Forehand Topspin and the Forehand Smash

Anticipation

How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.

Oh, I know what you mean!!!

Yeah, that's basically it, but I don't know if THAT much wind up is necessary, unless you want a Chinese FH loop. Also, some people go past the shoulder and finish at 1 o'clock-ish, like Ma Long. Some don't though. I think I do a little bit, but I never really paid much attention to it. It's still all about personal preference. See what works best for you.
