Equipment
Hi Jeff and Alois,
I was wondering if Andro's new Rasant Powersponge was a good rubber for beginners. I have heard that the softer sponge provides excellent control which is good for beginners, right? The speed level doesn't seem too high, and I can get the rubber in 1.9 mm sponge. What worries me is the fact that it is a tensor rubber. Are tensors bad for beginners?
Another question that I have is why classic rubbers make such good beginner rubbers? Is it due to their unforgiving nature, or just their excellent control qualities?
Thanks in Advance, Jon
Hi Jon,
I think the Rasant Powersponge probably isn’t great for beginners. It will still be too fast. I would go with Mark V or Sriver or something along those lines. The classic rubbers are a bit slower which gives better control
When choosing a net look for one with a good clamp, an adjustable height mechanism, and a way to tension the net.
