My friend has a very good backhand serve it goes very fast and at the same time swings and spins in and out.Whenever I get a point in that it hits the net, goes out of the table or he gives it slow and I smash it.Can u tell me how should I face his serve because of his service I always lose and if I can beat him I will also be the best in my colony.

Hi Utkarsh,

To be able to face this serve it is important to really watch the serve from the time he starts the serve.  Watch the action and the contact and then watch the flight of the ball after he hits it.  You will start to get the feel of the serve.  Stay with the basics of topspinning the long serves and pushing or flicking the short serves.

So watch and learn each time he serves it to you and you will get better at it.

For Premium members we also have a Course on Receiving Secrets which will show you the principles of returning serves.
