how do i get the reverse pendulum serve to go forwards by still maintaining the brush underneath the ball that makes it go forwards.

Hi Stefan,

Try changing the finish position of your stroke to move closer to the net.  This will get the action of your serve moving more forward.  If you currently end with your bat pointing towards the far net post, then try to get it pointing more towards the middle of the net.

i have a problem with this serve, when i do the side/topspin it is fine, but every time i try the backspin it hits the net without bouncing on my side. what am i doing wrong.

Sounds like you are going to much up with your follow through on the serve. Try going more down towards the table.  The ball should be bouncing close to you on your side so if you are going that far over you need to change your swing a bit.

Put a target like a piece of paper on the table about 10 cm from your edge of the table.  Then do your serve and aim to get the first bounce on that target.  You can hit the ball quite fast.

Thanks Alois, i will try that next time. i was using a very flat bat parallel to the table (as i do with my pendulum backspin),
