I've got a bat that has normal rubber in red side, and short pimples in black side.

I thought that the red side is always the anti spin XD.

What is the best side to do an anti spin, in my racket?

p.s. Sorry for english, I'm from italy

Hi John,

It will depend on the brand of red rubber you have.  Let me know what that is and I will be able to tell you whether it is suitable.  Just look at the base of the rubber and give me as much information as you can find there.

The short pimples you have will be better for controlling spin.  The pimples tends to absorb a bit of the spin because there isn't as much surface area hitting the ball.

Hi John,

This is a very slow bat and will be good for only the really basic strokes.  You should try to upgrade a little which will help you with your strokes.  The red rubber there will act almost like an anti spin because it will be very slow.

Ciao John, there are plenty of good table tennis brands.

I'm Italian too, so just write me  and I'll help you with the rubber issue ;)

Alois, sorry  if I'm writing in Italian ;)

Io ho appena iniziato ho 14 anni :) ,
