Hello, my names Joe and I go to High school. I'm good at table tennis, and can sometimes beat my friends and opponents. But I need to focus on my serves, apparently they're foul serves. What could I do to improve it? I wish to do a serve like your's in the video, i've tried it a couple of times and managed to do it once. Please reply, thank you.

Hi Joe,

The easiest answer I can give you is to get yourself a copy of Serving Secrets Revealed. This will explain the mechanics of the serve in an format that is easy to follow.

Take the serve and break it down into start position, swing and finish position.  You can learn the Pendulum serve and also apply the principles to any serve you want to do.  You may be able to get yourself a Christmas present.

When you follow the basics, the serve does actually become easy to follow.  Then it is a matter of practicing the serve many times before you can perfect it and feel comfortable to use it in a game situation.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have ordered a brand new bat, with 10 control, 8 power and 7 spin. It's very good according to the website, i'll have to save up for the DVD. Thank you,

The key is to get the bat at the right angle. The contact is exactly the same as for your sidespin serve. Just think of it now with the bat laying flat (facing the roof). Hope this helps.
