I'm having trouble controlling where the ball goes when my opponent spins it. Can you please help me?

Hi Anton,

This is a really difficult part of the game at the start but once you understand some principles and get a chance to practice them you will find that you will get the feel for it.

One of the main things is to be able to just use your racket as a rudder to steer the ball back on the table.  If the ball is spinning off your racket and going to the right, then you need to angle you racket to the left.  You don't need to do too much with this just use the angle of your racket.  If you try to spin it back it will lead to more errors.

We also have a large group of lessons on this area as part of our Premium membership.  Take a look at what is available in our Receiving Secrets lessons. There is a lot there to help you out.
