I played a guy with Tenergy rubber and the spin he got was completely unmanageable to me ..... how do you return a ball that just "takes off" as soon as your rubber touches it ??
Thanks guys ...
George
Hi George,
Learning how to return spin is one of trickiest and at times most frustrating parts of the the game. I can hear your frustration!
The basic principle is to watch the contact and then alter the angle of you racket to be abel to counteract the spin on the ball. I think the biggest problem I see if that players try to do too much with the return.

A really important skill in table tennis is to be able to judge if a serve will be short or long. If it's short you won't be able to take a full swing at the ball and hence will need to use either a push or a flick to return the ball. However, if it is coming long then you can make a topspin attack. In this video we give you some tips to help you judge the length of the serve and hopefully this makes you a better returner.
