I've been playing recently and realizing my footwork, anticipation, and timing are slow and really awkward. To play at the speed my friends play at, I'm sacrificing form and control.

Now, it seems like I have to relearn a lot of things from the beginning, which sounds incredibly boring. It feels like I'm moving backwards, and a lot of the work can't be done "at the table".

How do I keep myself motivated?

Hi Frank,

I think the re-learing and working on technique is exciting and then see where you can get to.

Once you have technique and balance there is much more possibility for improvement.
