Stopping Opponents Topspin

Hello!

What can i do to not give advantage in the playing to my opponents, because they ofthen make different top spin far away from the table and near the table?

Hi Yuriy,

The best solution here is to stop your opponent from making a topspin.  To do this you need to work on your short game.  By short game we mean being able to play the ball close to the net with your serve and returns. 

This is a fine skill that needs a lot of training and is one that is often neglected by players.

Practice your short push.  Take a look at our lesson on the Forehand Push.  This will help you to learn this stroke.  Also you need to practice serving short.

Th key is to be able to gain the first attack in the rally and therefore stop your opponent from attacking at you.
