Hey guys,
I wanted to ask what you think about the rubber combination of long pips and anti spin rubber. Do you think this combination could be played at a top level or not.
Hi Tim,
At the very top world level I don't think this can be successful. Most top players that have anti or long pimples on one side will have an attacking rubber on the other to take advantage of anything that is loose.
If you are playing at a club level however, I think it can be a combination that you can use successfully.
Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.

My plan was to kinda have such style. I would use the Anti and Long Pips in an offensive manner with long Pips disruption. The rubbers I wanted to use were Friendship 804 and Bomb Talent. Talent is an extremely disruptive Long Pips rubber and 804 is a half anti. So you can attack well with it and have little deception.
Give it a try and let us know how you get on.

Personally I would have a hard attacking and tacky rubber for my forehand and long pips for my backhand. Otherwise I agree with Alois, If you are just recreational then anti-spin is a fun rubber to gamble with.
