Strokes

Hi, I am a begginer playing ping pong and I know how to use my backhand well but when I use my forehand the ball goes way to high and it gives my opponnent the opportunity to smash it, and sometimes when I hit it, the ball just goes out of the table. Is there a technique that keeps the ball downlow so it doesn't go up high.

Thank you, Samuel

Hi Samuel,

The first thing to do is watch the video on the <a href="http://www.pingskills.com/lessons-forehand-counterhit.php">forehand counterhit</a> and the <a href="http://www.pingskills.com/lessons-forehand-topspin.php">forehand topspin</a>.

If you are happy with your technique of the stroke ,you may just need to close the angle of your bat slightly to keep the ball lower..

Try this out and see if it helps.
