Strokes

In womens matches i see what looks to be a flat hit, but it's low and they generate a lot of power off a very compact swing.

What type of shot is this and is it useful to learn?

Hi Frank,

They are playing a fast close to the table topspin with a short swing.  They tend to hit the ball a little flatter than the men in general but still generating spin by brushing the ball very fast.

It can be a useful shot for anyone when you are playing closer to the table.
