Interesting insights Alois.
I’d never really thought about the logic of where to stand but it makes sense.
maybe it also gives a hint about how to play your opponent.

One thing to remember is that the top players are lightning quick. If us mere mortals were to stand so far over to the side of the table like Ma Long, and the ball was played down the opposite side, we wouldn't get to it, whereas he would.
