Footwork

Hi Alois,

I noticed from premium lesson 5 'Ready set move' that sideway movement to the left begins with a small step on the left foot then leaps off on the left foot. However, in premium lesson 6, moving out wide to the left you started with pushing off on the right foot.

May I know the reasons for the difference?

Hi Albert,

This often depends on the balance you have at the time.  Sometimes it may take a small step with one side or the other to gain balance or your weight may be slightly on one side so you need to balance it up.

Hi Alois,

As demonstrated in the vedios, when moving sideways to the right you push off from the right foot and land with the left foot before the right foot. Can I just push off from the left foot and land with the right foot first?

Is this one-step move a kind of proper footwork and what are the drawbacks?

Hi Albert, yes you can.  As long as you are balanced throughout.
